The House
Seven bedrooms · Sleeps 14+ · 12 acres
A home designed to be lived in fully
Built in 1882 by ecclesiastical architect C.E. Giles, Somerleaze House is a Victorian estate sitting on twelve acres of Somerset countryside. Designed by Jo Berryman, the house has been stripped back to reveal its raffish, timeworn beauty. Gothic portals meet mid-century silhouettes, history converses with modernity.

Seven rooms. No two alike.
Vispring and Savoir mattresses throughout. All rooms individually designed.

Rooms built for living in
A kitchen built to cook in. A dining room built to linger in.

The Dining Room
A long table that seats fourteen. Pink velvet chairs. Tall windows. The kind of dinner you don't want to end.

The Living Room
Botanical wallpaper, layered rugs, deep sofas. A room that was designed to be used, not admired.

The Gym
Stone walls, beamed ceiling, natural light. Pilates reformer, rowing machine, free weights. Available to all guests.
The Stone Cottage
Tucked up next to the house, near the walled garden. A self-contained stone annexe with its own entrance. Private, quiet, and connected when you need it.
Ideal for a nanny, a couple wanting their own space, or elderly guests who prefer a ground-floor arrangement.

Everything you need. Nothing you don't.
Guest Reviews
“Everything was flawless. The home itself is so inspiring — we all left wanting to bring Jo home with us for redesigns. The kids were thrilled with the trampoline, pool, and football pitch. Don't hesitate, book immediately.”

“Honestly I don't normally do reviews, but we had such an outstanding experience. I will gladly recommend your home to anyone I know personally. Thank you.”
